The "Knucklehead" was the first production overhead-valve engine; it's the Great-Grandfather of today's Evo Engine. The engine was just one of many innovations associated with the great
1936 to 1947 era. We have brought this OHV engine back to life with FHP's special ground cam, the latest in modern technology, engineering and manufacturing disciplines. We have shipped these engines and parts worldwide. This Knuckle is dependable and simply Bad Ass!

Please phone Anders or Doug to discuss Complete Engine details.

All engines built by FHP are run on our Engine Dyno before shipping. When you receive your engine from FHP, you will connect fuel, oil, exhaust and electrical and roll.

Engine Dyno - Our Engine Dynamometer combines sophisticated data acquisition electronics with custom software for affordable, inertial + steady state horsepower testing. Emission testing procedures require repeatable absorber load control, impossible on simple inertia dynos. We incorporate dual fuel mixture sensors for ease of tuning dual carb setups.

We avoid hazardous road tests for performance modifications. Instead, evaluate things like exhaust or fuel curve changes by quickly plotting full Hp graphs. The Engine DYNO’s computer controlled throttle has the ability to hold an RPM which turns mapping fuel injection, dual carbs or spark curves, into “easy work"!

We enhance our credibility by giving our customers the complete report, printed dyno sheets with the detailed information. Customers buy from FHP because we can demonstrate we care about quality and performance.

Coating - Engine parts are professionally painted with High Heat Paint. Standard colors are Gloss Black and Flat Black. Additional colors are available on special request.
Powder Coating is not recommended.
